NaPoWriMo

National Poetry Writing Month is here! The basic premise is that you write a poem every day for the whole of April. Here is my first one (I can’t promise literary genius but hopefully it won’t be too appalling):

April Fools

And what fools are we?

Ambling through life,

Blind to the inevitable

Bound by the moment and yet

Forever dredging the history books

Consulting the oracle

Just to have one glimpse

One taste of time.

This dimension offers us a swift embrace

And then on to rest.
